The Royal Parks of Hyde Park and its neighbour Kensington Gardens at the western edge of central London and Regent's Park on the northern edge, are the largest parks in the central area of London. The Regent’s Park contains the London Zoo, which is the world's oldest scientific zoo, and is located not far from Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. There are also the Royal Parks of Green Park and St. James's Park which are a bit smaller. Hyde Park is famous for hosting open-air concerts and sports.

There are a number of parks a little bit further away from central London. These include Greenwich Park to the south-east, Bushy Park and Richmond Park to the south-west, as well as Victoria Park, East London to the east. In order to view the city skyline, Primrose Hill to the north of Regent's Park is a very popular spot. Hampstead Heath of North London is a semi-natural open space and it has 791-acres of land. Kenwood House situated on this land is a former stately home and a popular location in the summer months where classical musical concerts are held by the lake, attracting thousands of people every weekend to enjoy the music, scenery and fireworks.
