The first main airport for London was Croydon Airport, located in South London. It consisted of the boundary between what are now the London boroughs of Croydon and Sutton. It was later replaced by Northolt Aerodrome, London Heathrow Airport and London Gatwick Airport.

London has five main airports; Gatwick, Heathrow, London City, Luton and Stansted Airport. From these airports there are regular train, tube and coach services to different parts of the city.
